Iran's-New-President-Masoud-Pezeshkian: Challenges-and-Power-Dynamics

Iran’s liberal candidate Masoud Pezeshkian has become the president. He triumphed his hardliner leader Saeed Jalili by a margin of 300000 votes Sohrab’s article sheds light on complexities and dilemmas of the IR majors regarding political challenges of the country. Pazeshkian secured 1, 64, 00,000 votes. Jalil got 1,36,00,000 votes. We would like to inform you that in Iran, elections were held in February this year where again Ibrahim Raisi was elected as the president of the country.

Iran's President Ibrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash on 19 May. The political turmoil and uncertainty that had developed in Iran after this accident has now stopped. Iran has elected its new president. Masoud Pezeshkian has won the Iranian presidential election. Masoud Pezeshkian, who has made his mark as a reformist leader, has been elected the new president of the country. He defeated radical leader Saeed Jalili. The country's new President Pezeshkian is considered to be anti-hijab. He has also been advocating better relations with Western countries, return of the nuclear deal with the US and reforms in the law related to burqa in the country.

However, it the US has emerging issues concerning the elections conducted in Iran. Criticizing Iran, the US State Department claimed that the presidential election 2024 in Iran was not free. America complained about the Iranians recent decisions to vote a president of their own choosing, claiming that the elections were not fair at all. Matthew Miller, the US State Department spokesman, vowed to carry on negotiating with Tehran but only if the latter serves the interest of America. The statement also said that we have been in many of these elections expecting no change of the Iranian course to occur. This will not alter stance of the Islamic Republic on had rights of citizens. Such a viewpoint has been articulated by Pezeshkian himself when claiming that Iranian policy is made by the Supreme Leader. The US added that their conduct to the elections will not either affect the stance over Iran significantly. Still, one cannot but worry about the behavior of Iran.

Electing a new president, the reformist leader of the country is Masoud Pezeshkian. He beat the radical Saeed Jalili. The new president of the country, that is, Pezeshkian is believed to show a bias against the hijab. He has also been calling for improved relations with western nations, rejoining the nuclear deal with America and change in the law of burqa in the nation.

I have that now the people of Iran have placed Masoud Pezeshkian in the position of power, but does the President of Iran has enough power to implement the change he desires? Which group exercises more control in Iran and who has the ultimate decision of the system of government in Iran’s policy? A new Iran drama questions: Is the Iranian President just a puppet? What authorities are vested in the country’s parliament and who commands the army? Therefore, it is possible to begin with the analysis of power relations in Iran’s political landscape.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran holds definitely the highest position in the state, yet it is not the most authoritative one. The highest ranking position in that country is defended here by the supreme leader. However, it can be stated that there is a number of significant rights with the president in Iran for sure. Besides, there are many other players in Iran’s power regarding which their impact can be evidenced in various affairs. Once one is fully aware of each of these, it will be easier to know who is holding the key to power in Iran, or who has the tighter reign on it.
